Bihar Launches 'Mission Daksh' to Support Underperforming Students
In a significant move to improve educational standards, the Bihar government has launched 'Mission Daksh'. This ambitious program is designed to provide intensive, targeted academic support to over 25 lakh students in classes 3 to 8 who are struggling with basic literacy and numeracy skills. This follows other educational initiatives like those by Anand Kumar of Super 30 fame. For more on government initiatives, see Bihar's New Tourism Policy. The state's current Chief Minister is Nitish Kumar.,Under this mission, teachers will mentor a small group of no more than five students, conducting special classes after regular school hours. The focus will be on building foundational skills in Hindi, English, and Mathematics. The state's education department will closely monitor the progress of these students.,Education officials have stated that the goal of 'Mission Daksh' is to ensure that no child is left behind. By providing personalized attention, the government aims to bring these students up to par with their peers, thereby improving the overall learning outcomes in the state's government schools. The program is set to be a cornerstone of the state's educational reform efforts, building on a legacy of knowledge from the times of Nalanda University.
