Chanakya, also known as Kautilya or Vishnugupta, was the architect of the Mauryan Empire's rise to power. As the chief advisor to Emperor Chandragupta Maurya, his political acumen and strategies were instrumental in establishing one of the largest empires in ancient India. His seminal work, the 'Arthashastra', is a classic treatise on statecraft, economic policy, and military strategy that continues to be studied today.
