About Begusarai

Begusarai is known as the 'Industrial Capital of Bihar'. It is situated on the northern bank of the river Ganges and is a major hub for power and refining industries.

History

The district was historically part of the Anga and Mithila regions. It played a significant role in the freedom struggle and is the birthplace of the poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar.

Economy

It hosts the Barauni Oil Refinery, Barauni Thermal Power Station, and a fertilizer plant. Agriculture is also significant.
